Earlier this week, we presented you with a roundup of #ShutdownPickupLines, noting that, while the government shutdown is a far-from-funny situation, many people on Twitter still had some clever things to say.

And the jokes didn't end there. Throughout this frustrating week, we spotted several witty tweets about what's going on in Washington.

Lena Dunham was out of town but not off social media: "I go to France for one day and the government shuts down? It's like I have to do everything." Morgan Murphy expressed a wish: "I hope the government reopens as one of those fancy macaroon stores." And HuffPost editor Kerstin Shamberg couldn't help but think of a certain "Parks & Rec" character: "Ron Swanson is somewhere feasting on copious amounts of meat and Lagavulin 16 year to celebrate government #shutdown, of course."
