Oklahoma Teen Lorelei Decker Has Week She'll Never Forget

This Teen Just Had A Week She'll Never Forget

Lorelei Decker just had the kind of week that only happens once in a lifetime.

Last Monday, the 19-year-old from Putnam City, Okla., paid the Oklahoma City Thunder a visit to share some big news. Decker, who's been battling Hodgkin's Lymphoma for two years, became an honorary coach of the Thunder in April 2012 thanks to the Make-A-Wish Foundation. She's since stayed in touch with the team, KOCO reported.

In a huddle at Monday's practice she thanked everyone for sticking by her throughout her treatments. Then, she made a special announcement: "I'm hear to tell you my cancer is in remission."

But that was only one part of Decker's awesome week.

That weekend, her brother Dustin returned from a 9-month-long deployment to Afghanistan.

"I fought cancer everyday. I prayed for those boys to come home everyday," Decker told KOCO. "And to see both of those things happen in one week was just incredible."
