2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards: Red Carpet

The big winners of Wednesday night’s 2013 Billboard Mexican Music Awards were Jenni Rivera and Gerardo Ortiz, with seven and four statuettes respectively.

After her untimely death in in December, Jenni Rivera reigned the airways and music sales began to skyrockets as fans across the country mourned “La Diva de la Banda.” Not surprisingly, the late superstar had a huge presence in Mexican music’s big night with seven posthumous Billboard awards including “Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year.”

Gerardo Ortiz held on to his record of most Billboard Mexican Music awards won by a single artist by adding four more statuettes to his collection, for a total of 17.
