According to the Associated Press, Morales was pronounced dead at Illinois Masonic Medical Center about two hours after he was found.

Archimides Morales, the victim's older brother, told the Chicago Sun-Times the two were best friends.

"We always had him at our house for dinner and to drink ... I gave Chris the clothes off my back. It pisses me off that this how he repays us. He was family," the brother told the paper.
