John Leguizamo is returning to television with the news that his one-man comedy routine “Ghetto Klown” will be taped for broadcast on HBO.

Leguizamo’s performance of the show on Nov. 16 at the Victoria Theater in New Jersey will be taped and will debut on HBO next spring, Deadline reports.

“Ghetto Klown” – a routine which recounts the comedian’s childhood in New York City and eventual rise to fame – debuted on Broadway in 2011, after which the show was revamped for a national tour. “Ghetto Klown” – which was nominated for “Best Sound Design of a Play” at the 2011 Tony Awards – will be Leguizamo’s fifth comedy special for the cable channel, following 2002’s “Sexaholic …A Love Story.”
