'The Voice' Battle Rounds: Team Christina Gives Best Performance Ever Seen In This Round (VIDEO)

Team Christina Gives The Best 'Voice' Duel Ever

Team Christina was coming out strong on Night 2 of the Battle Rounds on "The Voice." In fact, they may have come out a little too strong in the case of Jacob Poole and Matthew Schuler. Both singers were simply fantastic, which was a huge problem for Christina Aguilera. She could only declare one of them the winner of the duel.

“No one got their ass whooped on that stage. We just got our asses whooped out here," Adam Levine said of the performance. Hollywood Life's Jordan Clifford said that both guys set the bar very high for all of the other acts in the competition.

In the end, though, Christina went with Matthew, leaving Jacob with no place to go. Buddy TV's Esther Gim noted that Blake Shelton should have used his steal to save Matthew, and probably would have if he hadn't blown both of them already on lesser contestants.

"Are Nic [Hawk] and Briana [Cuoco] good singers? Yes. Are they great? Neither made my cut for the Top 13 Blind Auditions ... [Blake] chose strategically because Nic seems like he has a big following while Briana does by default because of her last name," Esther wrote. "Even so, it's way too soon to use your only two steals when we've yet to hear three-quarters of the competition.”

The competition continues on "The Voice," Mondays at 8 p.m. ET and Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
