John Mayer Proposing To Katy Perry? Rumor Mill Points At Thanksgiving Engagement

Wedding bells may be ringing for John Mayer and Katy Perry because he is reportedly getting ready to propose to his songstress girlfriend soon.

VH1's "The Gossip Table" claims that Mayer plans to propose to Perry around Thanksgiving and has been shopping for a diamond.

"He's proposing to her and he's talking to a ring designer," co-host Marianne Garvey said recently. "By Thanksgiving, these two are set to be [engaged]."

A source told E! News that they are "very serious" and those close to them wouldn't be surprised if an engagement were to happen in the "not-so-distant future."

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Mayer showed up to watch Perry perform on "Saturday Night Live." The two then hit up an after-party, where they engaged in some "affectionate and adorable" PDA, a source told Us Weekly. "He was rubbing her back, then pulled her in for an intimate close chat. She put her hand inside his jacket and they were kissing and gazing into each other's eyes."

The following day, the two headed to Mamaroneck Beach and Yacht Club for his brother's wedding, according to the New York Post's Page Six.

The "Walking On Air" singer and the Connecticut rocker began dating again back in July after a three-month split. It might not come as a surprise that the superstar couple could get hitched (despite Mayer's prior playboy persona). Mayer previously hinted at being in it for the long haul.

"I remember handing a camera off to one of the guys in the studio, like, 'We need a picture of us at the board so when we get old and gray there's a picture of us looking cool making music in L.A.,'" he told The Associated Press.
