Taylor Swift's 'Sweeter Than Fiction' Is, Like, Totally '80s

Taylor Swift Made An '80s Song

As it turns out, Taylor Swift has mastered the art of being a fan and a pop star at the same time. Her latest single, "Sweeter Than Fiction," was written for "One Chance," a biopic about Paul Potts, the opera singing sensation from "Britain's Got Talent." Swift sings "Sweeter Than Fiction" from the perspective of an adoring fan, with a musical backing that recalls The Cure and other '80s staples (plus a little bit of "Since U Been Gone").

Fun (fun.) fact: fun. guitarist Jack Antonoff wrote the song with Swift, who released the track on iTunes Sunday night. Listen below.

"One Chance" is out in U.K. theaters on Oct. 25.
