Día de los Muertos is a little over a week away, so maybe you are looking for some fun resources to teach your children about the holiday. Last year, we shared a list of some of our favorite Día de los Muertos picture books for kids. Today, we have five craft or activity books that celebrate Day of the Dead.
Day of the Dead Activity Book by Karl Jones and illustrated by Steve Simpson. Penguin Group, 2013.
One of the newest titles released this year for Day of the Dead is this fun activity book. The illustrations are fantastic and make the 16-page book seem longer than it is. However, it is the press-out 3D ofrenda, paper dolls, and stickers that truly make this book worth purchasing. The first 16 pages include your typical Día de los Muertos information and activities like what the holiday is about, how to make paper marigolds, and recipes for sugar skulls and “graveyard cake.”
