Earlier this year it was announced that Jamie Foxx will star in the forthcoming revamped version of “Annie” as the Daddy Warbucks-inspired-character, Benjamin ‘Will’ Stacks. In preparation for the role, the Academy Award-winner decided to take a modern approach on the classic character by tapping into the persona of Sean “Diddy” Combs.
Foxx revealed his inspiration for the role this week during an appearance on the daytime talk show "Katie."
“I’m a cellular phone mogul. I’m running through the streets of New York, I’m trying to be mayor," he said. "And to be honest with you, I’m letting the cat out the bag just a little bit, I’m sort of mirroring Puffy a little bit.”
