'Castle': Alexis Accepts Castle's Relationship, So Why Can't He Accept Hers? (VIDEO)

'Castle' And Alexis Still At Odds Over Her Boyfriend, Pi

The relationship between Castle and his daughter, Alexis, continued to be strained on the latest episode of "Castle." She's moved out of his place and in with her boyfriend, Pi, which isn't sitting well with her father at all. On the other side of that, Alexis found out about Castle's engagement secondhand, which left her feeling more than a little slighted.

“I don’t know if it’s a good idea, or if she’s really the one," she said of the engagement. "But you what? I accept it. You know why? Because she makes you happy. The same way Pi makes me happy. All I want is the same thing I’m giving you: acceptance.”

Castle told her he accepted Pi, but she knew he was lying. And so for now, she remains mad at him and the two remain at odds. Buddy TV's Morgan Glennon thinks this is a good move for the show. "While [Castle and Alexis] used to be practically attached at the hip, now they have to navigate around the space that has grown between them," she wrote. "The idea of a rift forming between the two is an interesting concept.” Zap2It's Laurel Brown hopes Alexis comes around soon, as she agrees with Castle that Pi is no good for her -- and Alexis being a brat about it is no good for the show.

The family tension remains strained on "Castle," Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
