Pie Hole Pizza Joint iPad Theft Attempt Caught On Video

iPad Theft FAIL Caught On Video At Restaurant

One wannabe thief's attempt to snatch an iPad off the counter of a Chicago restaurant can best be described by one word: FAIL.

Early Saturday morning, surveillance video at Pie Hole Pizza Joint, located at 3477 N. Broadway in Chicago's Lakeview neighborhood, captured a person breaking the front window with a brick and heading straight for an iPad he had spied from outside the popular pizza restaurant.

But the intruder hadn't anticipated that the iPad -- used for the Belly rewards program -- was attached to the counter using a cable and gave up on the plan before long.

Video the restaurant posted of the incident to YouTube has gotten over 44,000 views as of Tuesday morning.

According to CBS Chicago, it will cost the restaurant's owner Doug Brandt $500 to replace the smashed window which is "a lot of pizza we have to recoup."
