'Arrow': Oliver Uncovers Black Canary's Shocking Identity

Well, that didn't take long. There was a very dramatic unmasking this week on "Arrow," and while we knew it was coming, we didn't expect Black Canary to be revealed so soon. After Felicity deduced that Canary was paying particular attention to Laurel Lance, Oliver set a trap for her. Once he had her all tied up, she revealed that she knew that the Arrow was Oliver Queen.

Oliver then pulled back the mask to reveal that Black Canary was Sara Lance, Laurel's sister. Only, Sara died on the shipwreck that stranded Oliver on that island for five years, didn't she? Turns out, she didn't -- and Oliver had lied about it to her family. But while he knew she was alive, he hadn't known she'd returned to Starling City and become a masked vigilante.

Even though this big reveal was spoiled by network head honcho Mark Pedowitz at the TCA Press Tour this past summer, TVLine's Matt Mitovich still enjoyed the episode. "As my industry peer Damian Holbrook Tweeted during the hour, the Oliver/Canary scenes were like ‘comic-book porn,’" he wrote. Over at Buddy TV, Carla Day thinks it's only a matter of time before her secret is out. "If Sara continues to wander around town, baseball cap or not, she'll eventually end up running into her father or sister," she wrote. "Perhaps, that's the best way -- accidentally on purpose.”

"Arrow" continues on Wednesday nights at 8 p.m. ET on The CW.
