Jon Gosselin On Kate: 'There Is No Cooperation' (VIDEO)

Jon Gosselin: 'There Is No Cooperation' With Kate

After 10 years of marriage, eight children and a hit reality TV show, Jon and Kate Gosselin are divorced and co-parenting their children in separate households. In the above video from "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" Jon Gosselin opens up about his relationship with his ex-wife and his need for a more private lifestyle.

"I don't really have a relationship with Kate," Gosselin says. "It's more texting, custodial stuff. I wish her the best in all that she does, but [we're] just moving in totally two different directions, just totally not on the same page at all, about anything."

Today, Gosselin lives in a cabin in rural Pennsylvania and works as a waiter. "I don't really know what goes on in Kate's house and she really doesn't know what goes on in my house," he says. "At this point, there is no cooperation. There's nothing. There's two totally different parenting styles and two totally different everythings -- which is a shame because it affects me, but it really affects my children."

"Jon and Kate Plus 8" aired from April 2007 through November 2009, a period Gosselin says was stressful for the family.

"We're super public and now I can't go here anymore because we're filming all the time, and you're trying to keep your marriage together and you're trying to keep your family ties together," Gosselin says. "I saw my kids not growing up normally, like I grew up and having community."

"Yes they got to travel the world and yes they got these fabulous things and yes they have trust funds and they are taken care of educationally -- great," he says. "But developmentally, they have problems with their peers. They had problems with talking to other people. They have problems with wants and needs and manners and morals and what's right and wrong, of course -- I think more so than someone who grows up off TV."

On HuffPost Live, host Nancy Redd spoke with "Oprah: Where Are They Now?" producers Julie Simpson and Julie Mirlicourtois about what they saw behind the scenes while filming with Gosselin.

Mirlicourtois share what it was like driving out to Gosselin's cabin in rural Pennsylvania and meeting his family. "Behind the scenes, his mom was actually there," Mirlicourtois says. "I could that tell she wasn't 100 percent thrilled that he was doing this interview, but there's this frustration I sensed in his family -- that he has spent 15 years building this resume in the IT industry and he's not able to get a job in what he's been doing for 15 years. And I think that they're really hoping that by sharing his side of the story that that might change, that he might be able to get a job in IT again and move on with his life."
