The writer behind the viral blog post "Marriage Isn't For You" sat down with Huffington Post Live on Wednesday to explain the inspiration for the piece.
Seth Adam Smith told Huff Post Live's Nancy Redd that he was compelled to write the piece -- which argues that marriage is about the other person's needs, not your own -- after suffering from his own marital struggles, saying, "A year and five months into our marriage, Kim and I went through a bit of a rough patch. And that advice came back to the surface."
So how has his wife reacted to all the media attention? Smith said, "She got really nervous, but she's been incredibly supportive of it all. It's been intense."
