393 People Bought Geri Halliwell's Comeback Song, 'Half Of Me'

393 People Bought Geri Halliwell's Comeback Song

Geri Halliwell, best known as Ginger Spice from the Spice Girls, has toned down her fiery red hair and is working on a solo career of her own. Unfortunately for the 41-year-old singer, who serves as a judge on "Australia's Got Talent," she just isn't getting the comeback she expected.

Halliwell recently released a new single called "Half of Me" as a part of her return to the music industry. A music video full of half-naked men wasn't enough to buoy the track, though, as it counted staggeringly low sales numbers.

"Half of Me" entered Australia's singles chart at No. 94, selling just 393 copies. Halliwell is fully aware of her assumed failure, addressing the numbers in a recent blog post on her official website.

"I saw online around 11pm that my new single (just released in Australia) had come in at number #94," Halliwell wrote. "I laughed nervously, god that’s really bad! (Deep down I was gutted)." The former pop princess continued, asking whether the right path was denial or continued promotion of the track, before thanking those who did buy the song, writing, "To the 393 people –- who made my song 94 -– I wont forget this magic number."
