Divvy Biking Gone Wild: BMX Pros, Lake Shore Drive Rider Get Creative With City's New Bikes

LOOK: Divvy Biking GONE WILD

Now that Divvy, Chicago's new bike sharing program, has logged 600,000 trips and is on the verge of becoming North America's largest bike-share system, it's only natural that its riders would begin to explore creative new territory in their usage of the ubiquitous teal two-wheelers.

In a video posted Wednesday by the RedEye, a trio of professional BMX riders -- Brian Kachinsky, Kevin Porter and Nick Wilbat -- tried their hand at putting the bikes to the test on the ramps of The Bakery skate park inside the Lacuna Artist Lofts in Pilsen.

Though the bikes are known for being rather heavy (bordering on clunky), the three still managed to catch some air and pull off more than a few wheelies.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Sun-Times shared a (NSFW language) Divvy video find of their own Wednesday: a helmet-less female cyclist pedaling along on Lake Shore Drive, seemingly without a care in the world while car after car passes her up.

Yeah, sorry, that's not how you do it.
