It was just a flesh wound.
Making his weekly pick on ESPN's "College GameDay" seems to becoming increasingly dangerous for Lee Corso. A few weeks after the 78-year-old college football analyst was body slammed by Bill Murray, he was bloodied in an on-air sword fight with Kirk Herbstreit.
After delighting the crowd in Los Angeles on Saturday morning by revealing that he would (presciently) pick USC to upset No. 5 Stanford, Corso pulled on a Trojans' breastplate and helmet. He also picked up a sword. After taking swings at his fellow panelists on ESPN's traveling college football roadshow, Corso was forced to defend himself. Herbstreit was armed, too. In the ensuing duel, Corso picked up a small cut near his mouth.
Corso had the first and last, of course. He would improve to 16-0 when picking USC on "GameDay" after the Trojans stunned Stanford with a game-winning field in the closing moments on Saturday night.
