Maria Bartiromo, the most famous anchor on CNBC, is leaving the network for arch-rival Fox Business.

The Drudge Report was the first to break the news on Monday. CNBC quickly confirmed that Bartiromo was departing after 20 years.

“Her contributions to CNBC are too numerous to list but we thank her for all of her hard work over the years and wish her the best," a spokesperson said in a statement.

The move is a major coup for Fox Business, which has been a perennial runner-up in the business television market. Bartiromo's defection leaves CNBC without its leading anchor.

Drudge wrote that Bartiromo will anchor a daily market hours program on Fox Business, much as she did for CNBC.
