Flash Mob Of Musicians Surprises Everyone At The Metropolitan Museum Of Art

If you happened to be walking around New York's Metropolitan Museum of Art and caught sight of a group of musicians sprawled out on the floor of Charles Engelhard Court, playing their instruments to the ceiling, then pat yourself on the back because you just witnessed a flash mob.

According to a tweet from the Met, the unconventional (and significantly quieter) version of a flashmob was the work of Alarm Will Sound, a 20-person band that performed a haunting rendition of Aphex Twin's "Cliffs" this Monday afternoon. The group -- once called "the Seal Team Six of new music" by New York Magazine -- is currently participating in a yearlong residency at the institute, so hopefully this impromptu concert will be the first of many.
