NASA Releases 'It Gets Better' Video

NASA Wants You To Know That 'It Gets Better'

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) released a heartwarming video this week that documents a number of astronauts, flight instructors and other members of NASA who have come together with a single message: it gets better if you're lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT).

Released through the "Out & Allied at JSC Employee Resource Group" of NASA's Johnson Space Center, the video's description notes that NASA wants current and future employees to know that it is okay to "be LGBTQ and that NASA JSC management supports and encourages an inclusive, diverse workforce in our workplace."

"Sometimes I think it's harder if you think about how you're different and you can think that maybe being different is bad -- being different is great!" an astronaut in the opening of the video notes. "You should really rejoice in those differences and realize that whoever you are, whatever you bring -- it's important and you are necessary."
