Leave it to Kate Middleton to convince us that it's time to get back into our school uniforms.
The duchess, a patron of the school-based mental health charity Place2Be, attended a forum on behalf of the organization today wearing a monochromatic, school-appropriate outfit. Her Orla Kiely pleated skirt and MaxMara zip-up jacket made for a perfectly subtle ensemble paired with her matching suede pumps, gloves and clutch, navy blue tights and Annoushka pearl drop earrings.
The only hitch? Kate had a bit of a "Marilyn moment" (there's really no other way to describe it) when her skirt was caught in the wind as she bent down to receive flowers from a child. If only she had taken a note from the Queen, who has been known to use weights sewn into skirts to avoid wardrobe malfunctions.
Luckily, the new mum pulled off the minor incident like a pro. At the very least, we're not deterred from attempting our own pleated skirts... we just might check the weather first.
