This Is What Happens When You Leave Your Tent Alone With Elephant Seals

When a crew headed into the sub-Antarctic island of Penguin City to film Adventures of the Penguin King, they came across a variety of wildlife, including these massive 4-ton elephant seals.

According to National Geographic, southern elephant seals are the largest of all seals. Males can be more than 20 feet long and weigh up to 8,800 pounds. Crushing a tent is pretty easy as is, but for these guys it's probably like stepping on a feather.

Lesson learned: Never leave your tent alone with southern elephant seals.

Interesting fact: Did you know these animals are not called elephant seals because of their size? The name actually refers to their trunk-like inflatable snout.
