Cameraman Hit By Tear Gas Canister Fired By Israeli Soldiers (VIDEO)

Cameraman Injured By Israeli Soldiers

A volunteer videographer was injured recently after Israeli soldiers hit him with a tear gas canister.

Abu Ahmad was volunteering with B’Tselem, an Israeli human rights organization, on Wednesday and filmed skirmishes between Palestinian youth and soldiers in the West Bank. In Ahmad's footage, one soldier is seen aiming a tear gas canister towards him and hitting him in the chest. B’Tselem reported that Ahmad was brought to a hospital and later released.

On Tuesday, HuffPost Live spoke to B’Tselem's spokesperson Sarit Michaeli about the incident. "It's actually quite startling footage... in that it captured the incident so well, but it's not a unique incident," she said, adding that Israeli security forces' practice of aiming tear gas canisters at people is "very common" and "dangerous."
