5 Liquors We Wish Were Still Prohibited: Happy Repeal Day!

Happy Repeal Day, everyone!

December 5 is Repeal Day, the day that we, as a nation, celebrate the U.S. government coming to its senses and finally repealing the Volstead Act (better known as Prohibition) in 1933. This Repeal Day, we're thankful for our freedom to enjoy single malt whiskies, bourbons, gins, Champagne and everything in between. But there are a few now-legal alcoholic products we wish had stayed prohibited.

In fairness, probably none of these existed in 1933, but if they had, we'd have asked Congress to make a few exceptions. Happy Repeal Day, however you choose to celebrate it!

1
Flavored Vodka
Facebook: Pinnacle Vodka
Look, it's not just Pinnacle (although they are responsible for Cotton Candy-flavored vodka). Flavored vodkas have come to be the bane of our existence. If you want to drink vodka and also love caramel apples, or bacon or sriracha or WHATEVER, just drink vodka and eat those things at the same time. This has gone too far.
2
Bailey's Irish Cream
Baileys
Listen, I like chocolate milk. We all like chocolate milk. Let's leave it out of our adult drinking activities.
3
Alcohol-Infused Whipped Cream
Facebook: CREAM
Nothing says, "I'm enjoying a cocktail like a responsible adult" like squirting it straight into your mouth from the can.
4
Midori
Midori
This stuff is responsible for turning drinks a color not found in nature, and for nearly turning us off honeydew on principle.
5
Malort
YouTube: redeyechicago
This Chicago-made, wormwood-flavored liquor that is so bitter it will make a grown man cry. Don't believe us? Watch this video of RedEye Chicago staffers tasting it for the first time.
