Song Of The Year Grammy Nominations: Lorde's "Royals" And Katy Pery's "Roar" Among 2014 Honorees

P!nk's "Just Give Me A Reason," Bruno Mars' "Locked Out Of Heaven," Katy Perry's "Roar," Lorde's "Royals" and Macklemore and Ryan Lewis' "Same Love" were nominated for Song of the Year at the Grammy nomination concert, "The GRAMMYS Nominations Concert Live!!" hosted by CBS in Los Angeles on Friday night.

According to the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the song of the year was created in order to "honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position."

Last year, fun. won for the song "We Are Young," notably beating Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger" among other nominees.

The 56th annual Grammy awards will take place at the Staples center in Los Angeles and air on Jan. 26, 2014, also on CBS. For the full Grammys nominations list of 2014 nominees, head to the Grammys website.
