Whoopi Goldberg Talks Smoking Marijuana Before 'The View' Tapings

Whoopi Goldberg has made no secret of her appreciation for marijuana. So when she stopped by the "Watch What Happens: Live" clubhouse, a caller asked if she ever smokes before a taping of "The View." Goldberg was very adamant in her answer.

“It’s never happened," she insisted. Goldberg went on to say that it would be too easy to tell if she had. "Who wants to take the chance?" she asked. "It’s a good gig to have, so I don’t want to blow it by smoking and [giggling] the whole time. I think it would be bad.” Reportedly her boss on "The View," Barbara Walters, isn't cool with Goldberg's love of marijuana, so maybe she's trying to save face here. There is video evidence that could suggest Goldberg was in some way ... altered ... on the show.

We'll give her the benefit of the doubt, though, as Goldberg has been very candid about her marijuana use in the past, even admitting to being high when she won her Oscar. Whatever the case, Andy Cohen dubbed her a "pro smoker," and so he had her show him how to roll a blunt ... of oregano.

Whoopi Goldberg can be seen weekdays on "The View" at 11 a.m. EST on ABC. "Watch What Happens: Live" airs weeknights at 11 p.m. EST on Bravo.
