Christmas lights are chosen for their beauty rather than practicality. Mainly, the big decision is whether to go all-white or for color. From there, maybe you consider multi-color or single color, big bulbs vs. small. Do you consider the environmental impact? Probably not.

But the LED Christmas lights flooding the market right now might be worth a second look for more than just the "green" factor. Though they're usually a few dollars more per strand, there are a few bigger benefits, like the fact that they won't burn out as quickly as traditional versions.
