Snowden Or Miley Cyrus Could Be Time's Person Of The Year

Time Reveals Finalists For Person Of The Year

Time magazine unveiled its top ten finalists for the Person of the Year on Monday's "Today."

Time is often accused of pandering to safe or middlebrow tastes with its POY decisions (no one is likely to forget its infamous choice of "You" in 2006, for instance), but its 2013 list erred on the newsy and serious side.

The finalists were Edward Snowden, Pope Francis, Miley Cyrus, Amazon's Jeff Bezos, health secretary Kathleen Sebelius, President Obama, gay marriage pioneer and Supreme Court victor Edith Windsor, Iranian president Hassan Rouhani, Syria's Bashar al-Assad and senator Ted Cruz.

"Today" anchors immediately weighed in with their guesses, with Savannah Guthrie predicting Pope Francis would win, and Natalie Morales casting her vote for Snowden.
