Golden Globes Best Supporting Actress Nominees Include Jennifer Lawrence, Julia Roberts

The nominations for the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards were announced on Thursday by Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, and Aziz Ansari. Some of TV and film's biggest stars were nominated for Best Supporting Actress, including Jennifer Lawrence and Julia Roberts.

Lawrence was nominated in the film category for her role in David O. Russell's "American Hustle," while Roberts received a nod for her part in "August: Osage County." Also up for Best Supporting Actress in the Motion Picture category are Sally Hawkins for "Blue Jasmine," Lupita Nyong'o for "12 Years a Slave," and June Squibb for "Nebraska." Notably absent from the category is Oprah Winfrey, who received major hype for her role in "The Butler."

On the television side, the nominations were Jacqueline Bisset for "Dancing on the Edge," Janet McTeer for "White Queen," Hayden Panettiere for "Nashville," Monica Potter for "Parenthood," and Sofia Vergara for "Modern Family."

At the 70th annual Golden Globe Awards, Anne Hathaway took home the statue for her role in "Les Misérables," beating out Amy Adams for "The Master," Sally Field for "Lincoln," Helen Hunt for "The Sessions," and Nicole Kidman for "The Paperboy."

Maggie Smith won the supporting actress honors for "Downton Abbey" at the 2013 ceremony. She topped Hayden Panettiere ("Nashville"), Archie Panjabi ("The Good Wife"), Sarah Paulson ("Game Change") and Sofia Vergara ("Modern Family").

Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will re-team to host the 71st Annual Golden Globe Awards on Jan. 12, 2014. Held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif., the ceremony will air on NBC.
