I can't express the excitement I felt hearing my name called while listening to the nominations from Paris this afternoon. I screamed and the tears started immediately; I was so overwhelmed! I am so happy for Chiwetel, Michael, Steve, John, and Hans. '12 Years a Slave' means so much to me and having the Hollywood Foreign Press recognize it as it did, is just beyond words.

Alexander Payne is nominated for Best Director for "Nebraska," which is also nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy; Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy (Bruce Dern); Best Supporting Actress (June Squibb); and Best Screenplay (Bob Nelson).

People talk about this being a 'competitive' year for film, when really it is an 'excellent' year -- so many wonderful movies internationally and at home. I'm happy "Nebraska" is part of the discussion, and I'm especially gratified by the attention Bruce Dern and June Squibb are receiving at what we hope is the mid-point of their careers.

Bruce Dern is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy.

What's wonderful about this nomination is that we started the journey a long time ago and it's so fantastic that people are supporting Nebraska. We are so happy that the Hollywood Foreign Press has given this movie a lot of love. With teammates like June Squibb, Will Forte and the rest of the cast, Alexander Payne gave us the best that we could have asked for.

Helena Bonham Carter is nominated for Best Actress in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television for "Burton and Taylor."

I'm thrilled to receive a nomination for 'Burton and Taylor.' But I couldn't have done it without Dominic West or Elizabeth Taylor so I'm accepting the honor on their behalf.

Sally Hawkins is nominated for Best Supporting Actress for "Blue Jasmine."

I would like to thank the HPFA with all my heart -- I'm so surprised and truly honoured. Making this film with Woody Allen & Cate Blanchett & the rest of our cast & crew was the most wonderful experience and very special to me. I’m so delighted for Cate too. I am overwhelmed. Thank you.

Writer/Director Chris Sanders' film "The Croods" is nominated for Best Animated Feature Film.

Animated films are the most detailed, complex sorts of films you can possibly make -- so we don't take that task lightly. 'The Croods' had a message we felt was worthy of that scale of effort, and anyone who has seen it has come away changed. We are immensely proud of it, and of the artists who devoted themselves to it. We, and they, thank the HFPA from the bottom of their very strong hearts.

Lauren Graham's co-star Monica Potter is nominated for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Mini-Series or Motion Picture made for Television for "Parenthood."

The film is also nominated for Best Motion Picture, Musical or Comedy; Best Actor in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Christian Bale); Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy (Amy Adams); Best Supporting Actor (Bradley Cooper); and Best Supporting Actress (Jennifer Lawrence).

I'm very humbled by today’s nominations on behalf of myself, our producers, Eric Singer and every actor in this film who gave it up from their souls every day on set. They inspire and exhilarate me and I can't imagine this film living without each one of them. Our four producers, Chuck Roven, Richard Suckle, Megan Ellison and Jon Gordon have been with us every step of the way, supporting the vision I had for this story and these unique characters and I am proud to share this screenplay nomination with Eric Singer whose terrific script initiated this whole endeavor.

Julie Delpy is nominated for Best Actress in a Motion Picture Musical or Comedy for "Before Midnight."

I am delighted, happy and thrilled to be nominated. I want to thank the Hollywood Foreign Press for acknowledging my performance of Celine in 'Before Midnight'! It’s been an amazing journey which I've shared over 20 years with Richard Linklater and Ethan Hawke, to whom I owe so much.

John Ridley is nominated for Best Screenplay for "12 Years a Slave."

I am so incredibly grateful for the nomination, and equally aware what so many people are responding to are the words and strength and character of Solomon Northup. It is an honor to have been part of a gifted group of artists who have brought his story to life.

Robert Redford is nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for "All Is Lost."

This was unexpected, but well received. J.C. Chandor has created a unique and wonderfully designed frame for me to step into as an actor. I enjoyed the experience, I enjoyed him, and I am appreciative of this acknowledgment by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association.

This story is developing and will update as more and more stars react to their nominations.
