Rush Limbaugh: Time Picked Pope Francis To Get Back At Me

Rush Limbaugh's Outlandish New Pope Comments

Rush Limbaugh has one explanation and one explanation only for why Pope Francis was named Time magazine's Person of the Year: the media is out to get him.

The radio host said on Monday that the media is simply "jealous" of him, and that was the fuel behind the magazine's decision to choose Pope Francis. Limbaugh has been under fire as of late for attacking Pope Francis earlier in December.

"The media is beside itself," he said. "They don't know what to do-- they're conflicted.... The media's jealousy, envy, hatred for me has driven them into the arms of the Pope!"

The proof? Limbaugh said that members of the media "despise the Catholic church" and "despise the Pope-- the papacy," thus there could only be "one reason" why they would pick Pope Francis.

"They name him man of the year simply because he attacks capitalism and ticks me off," Limbaugh concluded.
