Sometimes a workout gets popular because it's just so good. Other times, a workout gets popular because it's just too good to be true. And sometimes, a workout gets popular because it's just plain weird.

Elizabeth Kovar, an American Council on Exercise (ACE) certified personal trainer, shared her top three picks for the quirkiest viral video workouts of 2013. While we don't recommend counting these few minutes as your entire workout, a little laughter can certainly burn a few calories.

  • Prancercise
    Joanna Rohrback's 1989 invention blew up this year, thanks to her amazing galloping, trotting and, of course, prancing.
  • Harlem Shake
    Everyone from pro soccer teams to synchronized swimmers to HuffPost editors got in on the calorie-burning madness.
  • Gangnam Style
    Psy's now-notorious "trot" has over 1 billion YouTube views worldwide, and even inspired a number of fitness classes to give his moves a try.
