WATCH: Why You Should Skywatch In Winter Despite The Chill

Freezing temperatures certainly make a strong case for staying inside on winter nights. But a new video from the YouTube channel MinutePhysics offers a pretty compelling reason to head outdoors.

As the video explains, the full moon offers better viewing in winter than in summer. That's because the tilt of Earth's axis as our planet makes its yearlong journey around the sun means that the moon (and stars) are visible for much longer each evening in winter than in summer.

So why not take advantage and go check out the night sky this winter? Just bundle up first -- baby, it's cold outside.
