Human Skull On Paper Plate Found By Hikers In Oakland Hills

Hikers Make Horrifying Find

In something straight out of a hiker’s horror story, a human skull surrounded by beads on a paper plate was found by hikers Wednesday night in the Oakland hills.

Discovered by multiple visitors to Tilden Regional Park on Grizzly Peak Boulevard, the skull’s origins remain a mystery, though police have noted that it looks old and does not appear to be of Native American heritage.

Oakland police officer Johnna Watson said the plated skull was displayed completely “out in the open.”

Police are launching an investigation into where the skull came, who it belonged to and why it was placed on the public trail.
