'Kim Of Queens': Former Beauty Queen Teaches Pageant Contestants To Fake Talent

This Is The Worst Tap Dancing You'll See Today

Over-the-top personalities sell reality shows, and Lifetime is hoping fans of shows like "Toddlers & Tiaras" and "Dance Moms" will get excited about Kim Gravel. The former Miss Georgia headlines "Kim of Queens," where she helps future beauty queens, and she certainly seems to have some rather unconventional ideas ... like how to fake a tap dancing talent.

"It’s not really about the tap" Kim told her charge, Addison, in the premiere. She said the face could make up for a lack of skill in the feet. Kim demonstrated for Addison, and the two even did an awful tap routine together with ridiculous facial expressions. But somehow, it all came together and worked -- Addison took first place!

Kim told Zap2It that she hopes she provides a family show with a dose of "This is something they can apply to their own lives" ... like how to fake a talent! But The AV Club's Molly Eichel isn't sold, calling the drama in the show both "manufactured" and "boring." People will often accept the first, but the second is unforgivable!

Does "Kim of Queens" have what it takes to survive the crowded reality landscape? The new Lifetime series continues on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST.
