Kansas City Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles suffered a head injury during the first quarter of an NFL wild-card playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The 27-year-old All-Pro was shaken up after a 7-yard run on the Chiefs' opening drive on Saturday at Lucas Oil Stadium. After being examined by team trainers on the field and then on the sideline, Charles was escorted to the locker room.

The team soon announced he was being evaluated for a concussion and his return was questionable. It was later announced he would not return to the game.
