Well, Now Your Car Can Help You Order Pizza

Just what we've always wanted.

Ford and Domino's have teamed up to create an app that makes it possible to order pizza using Ford's SYNC in-car infotainment system. The technology was unveiled at this year's Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Using “yes” and “no” voice commands, the Domino's Pizza app lets owners of SYNC-equipped Fords shave seconds off the time it'd usually take them to order a Domino's pie. This is the kind of world we live in.

Owners need only first register their address and payment information on Domino's website before using their SYNC system to avoid all human contact when placing an order for pizza.

"Americans love pizza, and now they can have one ready for carryout or delivery when they are on their way home or heading to a gathering with friends," Julius Marchwicki, global product manager for Ford SYNC AppLink, said in a news release.

For its part, Domino's Pizza seems excited to be a part of SYNC AppLink: “This is, no question, one of the coolest in a long list of recent technology innovations for Domino’s,” Patrick Doyle, Domino’s Pizza president and CEO, said in the release.

Ford's SYNC AppLink also offers apps by Spotify, Pandora, Amazon and others.

If the Domino's Pizza app for SYNC interests you (just admit it, you’re interested), check out The Verge's video above to see the system in action.
