For Pam and JaVale McGee, basketball is a family business. Pam McGee is the first WBNA star to have a son play in the NBA, and now, she and JaVale are appearing in a new show called "Mom's Got Game," airing this month on the Oprah Winfrey Network.
"The Kennedys do politics. The McGees, we do basketball," Pam says.
A former WNBA Hall of Famer, Pam is known for being domineering both on and off the court. JaVale, a center for the Denver Nuggets, has a reputation for being a colorful and eccentric character -- and also one with incredible athleticism and skill. "Mom's Got Game" will explore the dynamic relationship between these two larger-than-life basketball superstars.
However, Pam isn't just 25-year-old JaVale's mother; she's also his business manager. As Pam works to keep her own busy life on track, she's also determined to keep a tight rein on the glitz and girls that come with the life of an NBA star.
The series premiere of "Mom's Got Game" airs Saturday, Jan. 18, at 10 p.m. ET on OWN.
