Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie Split: Couple Separates After Three Years Of Marriage

Hilary Duff, Mike Comrie Split

Hilary Duff and her husband, Mike Comrie, have split.

Duff and Comrie have separated after more than three years of marriage, a rep for the actress confirms to HuffPost Celebrity. Adding, "They remain best friends and will continue to be in each other's lives. They are dedicated to loving and parenting their amazing son, and ask for privacy at this time."

She tweeted to fans Friday (Jan. 10).

A source adds that there was no drama involved, the two apparently just grew apart.

"There was no major incident -– no big event between the two of them," a source told People. "They really did drift apart. They have put effort and thought into this decision for a long time. They tried couples therapy, but in the end, they realized at this time, they work better as friends. And they really are great friends."

Although the two have seemed happy recently -- going to the park and spending a fancy New Year's Eve together -- reports surfaced back in September that they were going through some struggles. Star magazine reported Duff and Comrie were on the verge of separation and attending couples therapy to attempt to work it out.

“She felt like Mike forgot how to treat her special,” a source told the tabloid.

Duff, 26, and Comrie, 33, who is a former hockey player and heir to Canada's Brick furniture company, married in August 2010. The two welcomed their first child, son Luca Cruz, in March 2012.
