"American Hustle" went home with the award for Best Picture - Musical or Comedy at the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards.

With seven nods, David O. Russell's ABSCAM caper tied with "12 Years a Slave" as the year's most-nominated movie. It topped "Her," "Inside Llewyn Davis," "Nebraska" and "The Wolf of Wall Street" to win one of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association's top film honors.

"American Hustle" was also nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy (Christian Bale), Best Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy (Amy Adams), Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture (Bradley Cooper), Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture (Jennifer Lawrence), Best Director (Russell) and Best Screenplay (Russell and Eric Warren Singer). Adams and Lawrence were honored with Golden Globes awards.

"Hustle" is also up for two honors at the Screen Actors Guild Awards, including Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture, and the film been feted with nominations from the Writers Guild of America, Directors Guild of America and Producers Guild of America. "American Hustle" was also one of the BAFTA Awards' most-nominated features. It's a heavy favorite for a Best Picture nomination at the Oscars.

Recent winners for Best Picture - Musical or Comedy include "The Artist," "The Kids Are All Right," "The Hangover" and "Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street." "Les Misérables" took home the award last year in addition to Best Actor in a Motion Picture - Musical or Comedy (Hugh Jackman) and Best Supporting Actress (Anne Hathaway). Over the past 10 years, five winners have gone on to receive Best Pictures nominations at the Oscars.
