Emily may have her memories back on "Revenge," but she found herself in an even more dangerous predicament this week. For her recovery, Victoria arranged for Emily to stay at Grayson Manor. Just as Emily was considering abandoning her revenge plot entirely, she found herself trapped in the viper's nest.
Even worse, Victoria sent her "other" son to Nolan's to get his hands on Emily's Infinity Box. Inside were all of Emily's secrets, as well as the moves she'd made so far against the Graysons. Luckily, Emily has savvy friends on her side. By the time Patrick returned with the box, the contents had been modified. They now supported Victoria's belief that Emily is simply a grifter looking for a big payday.
And then, Emily came up with a way to salvage her plan. She rolled with the changes and embraced her new reality. As Hollywood Life's Avery Thompson detailed, "[Emily] confessed that she knew Daniel shot her, and was now concerned with how they would move forward. Daniel was totally against this idea, but Emily said with a sinister smirk, ‘I like the lifestyle. I’m not going anywhere.’ Daniel replied, ‘Screw you.’”
And just like that, a new truth takes hold, and Emily is now openly despised by the Graysons. But she also helped cover up the fact that Daniel shot her by telling the press that it was Lydia, which gives her leverage over them. This development changes the dynamics in almost every relationship Emily has, serving to freshen the show without losing any of the focus and tension that makes it exciting week after week. That's how you tweak a formula!
