RAW VIDEO: The Moment Alleged Denver Hostage Taker Is Shot By Police

Video has surfaced of a Denver, Colo. man being shot by police after he allegedly took a woman hostage early Monday morning at a 7-Eleven.

The man, who remains unidentified, is in critical condition after a single shot by police brought him down. In the video, taken by KDVR, the barricaded suspect can be seen using a female hostage as a human sheild.

Authorities told 9News the suspect -- who had two hostages in the store -- exited the building after an hour-long negotiation.

“He then attempted to drag the female back in the store," said Denver Police Chief Robert White. "Out of fear for the female’s safety, one of the officers fired one shot, striking the individual.”

The hostage, who did not wish to be named by KDVR, was unharmed.

“It was terrifying," she told the station. "It was stressful and I don’t wish it on my enemy. Everybody that’s concerned about me, I appreciate your thoughts and prayers.”
