Melissa McCarthy To Host 'Saturday Night Live' On Super Bowl Weekend

Melissa McCarthy Will Return To Host 'SNL'

Gear up for the potential return of vicious coach Sheila Kelly or Barb Kellner's pizza-eating business: Melissa McCarthy is heading back to the "Saturday Night Live" stage on Feb. 1, NBC has announced.

Rumors of McCarthy's hosting gig circulated last weekend and NBC confirmed the reports on Friday (Jan. 17). Imagine Dragons will join the "Bridesmaids" actress as the episode's musical guest, with the band making its "SNL" debut one week after a performance on the Grammy Awards.

McCarthy's hosting duties come on a coveted weekend, as the episode will air on the night before the Super Bowl. It marks the third time she's hosted, following well-received appearances in 2011 and 2013. Both of her previous stints on the show featured McCarthy's signature physical comedy, from a ranch-dressing taste test to her high heel-plagued monologue.

The actress is the third host announced for 2014. She follows this weekend's Drake appearance and Jan. 25's Jonah Hill-headlined episode.
