SAG Awards Beauty Evolves From Pale Faces To Luminous Skin, Thank Goodness

Thank Goodness This SAG Awards Trend Is Out

Awards show season always brings out the best and worst in red carpet beauty, and the Screen Actors Guild Awards are no exception. For the past 20 years, the leading ladies of film and television have transformed in interesting ways.

The '90s were all about pale-faced splendor, which even women of color like Alfre Woodard fell victim to, while the mid-aughts brought about some of the most luminous looks (we're looking at you, Kerry Washington). And don't get us started on the dated hairstyles, adorned with massive floral accessories and cringe-worthy dye jobs, that even we thought were cool back in the day. We're still wondering why Julia Roberts went so dark in 2001.

Even though we're still reeling from the Golden Globes, we're getting ready for the 20th Annual SAG Awards with some serious throwback beauty. From Charlize Theron's super tan phase to Anne Hathaway's controversial pixie, we can't wait to see what actresses like Jennifer Lawrence and Lupita Nyong'o have in store.
