Colleague Ethics: How To Be Your Best Self At The Office

'Our Reactions Are Not Commandments'

When your patience is running thin and your temper short, it can be tempting to snap at colleagues and create a tense work environment. But it doesn't have to be that way, according to Michael Kuhar.

Kuhar joined HuffPost Live's Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani to discuss his book, "The Art and Ethics of Being A Good Colleague," and his advice for taming the way you treat your coworkers.

"A lot of the reactions that we have to people and situations are basically human nature, but my position is our reactions are not commandments," Kuhar said. "We don't have to follow all of our feelings. We don't have to do the thing that jumps into our mind. We can take time and do the benign and supportive thing."

Hear all of Kuhar's tips for being the best colleague you can be at HuffPost Live below.
