Call Jessica Fletcher, there's been a murder ... this time it's her own series.

NBC's "Murder, She Wrote" reboot starring Octavia Spencer, that was announced back in the Fall, is no longer "going forward," according to Deadline.

The re-imagining of the classic series that ran from 1984 to 1996 would have followed Spencer, a hospital worker and part-time detective, who self-publishes her first mystery novel.

Deadline adds that NBC could revisit the series in "a different way, possibly with a new concept," but for now the case is closed on the future of this reboot.
