In conjunction with the upcoming announcement of GLAAD's 2014 media awards nominations, the "It Gets Better Project" and Google+ held a hangout with prominent LGBT community members and allies to discuss LGBT representation in the media.

Those taking part in the hangout included HuffPost Gay Voices Editor Noah Michelson, Wilson Cruz of GLAAD, Andrew Rannells of "GIRLS" and "Book of Mormon," Jennifer Beals of "Flashdance" and "The L Word," Michelle Garcia of The Advocate, Janina Gavankar of "The L Word" and it was moderated by Eric Sasson of "The Wall Street Journal."

During the hang out the actors, journalists and activists talked about a wide range of topics including representations of queer people in the media and what needs to improve, straight actors playing queer roles (and vice versa) and more.
