When it comes to awkward, star-struck moments on The View, Sherri Shepherd, Emmy Award-Winning Cohost of The View, had a few very entertaining stories to share with us.
The first example that came to mind for Sherri was an episode featuring Bill O’Reilly, where he ruffled some serious feathers by calling Muslims terrorists. “Joy and Whoopi were so upset with him that they walked off the set of the live show!” she recalled. Since Sherri was the last host hired, she felt she had to stay on set and make the most of the sticky situation. “You know what they say. The last hired is the first fired,” she joked. Luckily, Barbara Walters came to the rescue and salvaged the situation. “She’s grace under fire,” Sherri said.
The next story was from the time they hosted musical legend Prince on the show. “When Prince came on, you just stared at him with your mouth open,” laughed Sherri, ”Because he's Purple Rain! You just get a cup to catch the spit when it comes out.”
Prince, who was Sherri’s secret crush, sat next to her on set, completely catching her off-guard. Sherri confessed to him that she’s always wanted to make love to him her entire life. “Then he ran off the set! I haven’t seen him since!” she joked.
