Olympic Gold Medalist Scott Hamilton became famous for his signature back flip on the ice. When asked about why he decided to ever attempt such a feat, he had a great answer.

“I saw another guy do it!” Scott said, “And I saw the crowd react and respond. I always liked fun stuff.” As a second year professional at the time, Scott also realized that executing a back flip could be something that separated his professional career from his competitive career.

Though Scott wasn’t the first male to execute a back flip on the ice, he’s certainly become famous for incorporating this impressive stunt into his routines.
